Overview
Multi Translate ("we", "our", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how it's used, and your rights.
TL;DR: No account required. No analytics. No tracking. Your API key stays on your device. Translations go only to Google Translate (if configured) or MyMemory. Text-to-speech runs entirely on-device.
Data We Collect
Data You Provide
Google Translate API Key — If you add one in Settings, stored locally on your device (iOS Keychain / SharedPreferences). Never sent to us.
Text you type for translation — Sent to Google Translate API or MyMemory API to perform translation. Not stored by us.
Data Generated Locally
Translation history — Your past translation sessions (source text, translations, timestamps, selected languages) stored locally on your device only.
App preferences — Auto-translate toggle, TTS settings, haptics, selected languages — all stored locally.
Data We Do NOT Collect
No personal identifiers (name, email, contacts)
No device identifiers (IDFA, advertising ID)
No analytics, crash reports, or usage tracking
No location data
No microphone/camera access

Third-Party Services
Google Cloud Translation API
If you provide an API key, translation requests are sent to translation.googleapis.com over HTTPS. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
The app uses standard iOS/Android APIs for: text-to-speech (on-device), secure storage (Keychain/Keystore), network requests. No data sent to Apple/Google beyond OS-level telemetry you've consented to separately.
Data Retention & Deletion
Translation history: Stored until you delete it (swipe to delete in History, or "Clear all text" in Settings).
API key: Stored until you remove it in Settings.
Preferences: Stored until app is uninstalled.
Uninstalling the app: Deletes all local data (history, preferences, API key) from your device.
Your Rights
Access: All your data is visible in the app (History screen, Settings).
Deletion: Delete individual history entries, clear all text, remove API key, or uninstall the app.
Portability: History can be viewed and manually copied. No automated export (feature request welcome).
No account = no account deletion needed.
Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
API keys stored in platform secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
All network requests use HTTPS with certificate validation.
No data transmitted to our servers — we don't have any.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy for new features or legal requirements. Changes posted here with updated date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
